So I've been having a couple of problems after my gallbladder extraction on August 5. My stomach seems to be very full now. This happened maybe 3-4 days after my surgery. I also started to get nauseous. But what bothers me most is this swollen feeling. It's very uncomfortable and I can't eat much because I feel so stuffed and nausea makes it worse. If I try to eat my stomach, it literally feels like it's about to explode and makes it difficult to breathe. I've been walking here and there maybe 20 blocks every time they told me walking will do the gas license. But I feel so bad that I'm not sure if anyone has experienced swelling so long? A friend of mine said she was swollen and left in a week. Is it possible to have ginger beer to help me vomit, maybe gas x, something? I just want to feel good again and sincerely feel bad. Don't think I'm constipated and I've been having diarrhea and mild feces. 0 likes, 180 replies180 Replies Published 4 years ago I'd go back to the doctors immediately and make them ultrasound, to make sure you don't have an infection because that's not right. I had my gallbladder out 10 years ago and although I now suspect that I could have BAM, I had no symptoms. Good luck. Published 4 years ago Published 3 years ago Published 4 years ago I had my gallbladder off August 4. My swelling is still a little there, but it was mainly dissipated in the 10-day mark. My jeans fit again, though still a little tighter than they should be. It almost happened overnight. I'd make an appointment for Friday. That way if it's not better then you can go in and see someone before the weekend. Published 4 years ago I had my gallbladder off August 4. Published 4 years ago Published 4 years ago I think I should, but there might be ways to help her. A fever would be a sign of infection to answer your question from above. I think if you can fit your jeans now, you're not as swollen as you think you are, it's just feeling like that. Remember, you were removed from an organ! It takes time for your body to adjust completely. Published 4 years ago I don't have a fever thanks to God and I called the hospital and they told me if my eyes get yellow or look at it to go directly there. But no, I'm fine except for the discomfort in my stomach. This was my first surgery and I'm nervous and scared. I didn't try to get this to get on and feel worse, you know, I knew I had to get my gallbladder out, but this feeling makes me uncomfortable. And nausea doesn't help but the swollen feeling makes it worse as if I ate as much or something when I clearly haven't. I'd like to eat as before when I wasn't sick. I can't expect him to be so impatient, but it's because I've felt sick for so long and now the healing process seems to be putting more challenges for me than it stinks. Thanks for the answer. Published 4 years ago I forgot to mention that some people have told me that they have developed after gallbladder surgery and I was thinking that maybe it is this but I don't feel burning in my stomach is just the feeling of fullness and my incisions hurt a little sometimes like waving so I'm thinking about this. If anything, I'll try to contact my surgeon tomorrow. Published 3 years ago Hi, Deesan. They gave me a recipe for Ondansetron - a disintegration tablet for nausea. He helped me with nausea and I also felt like eating even if I'm hungry. I'm just two days out of my surgery, so right now I feel the right side pain for the first time, plus swelling. Your doctor should be fine with giving you this script as it's not a narcotic. Post op for me is much better than last month they were burdened with pain and disease unlike anything I've ever had before. My doctor refused any pre-op pain, so he went back to the ER just to get relief and stop getting sick. Faster 35 pounds I've lost! I'd love to know how you're doing after a year. I hope this helps someone. Thank you. Published 4 years ago My vesicular surgery was about 12 years ago. Within 2 or 3 days after my surgery, I have developed a terrible gas problem. I talked to my surgeon about it and said he should be feeding me when I eat or drink. I told him I wasn't eating or drinking anything different then I was before my surgery. The pain on my right side, in the area where my gallbladder was, did not start for several years after my surgery. Now I have pain, especially in the morning, I also have swelling. I have had to buy clothes several sizes larger than before due to all swelling and pain on my right side.. I recently had several ultrasounds. I wanted to make sure there were no precious stones in the bile duct. They saw no stone. However, they said there was, but kidney stones were found on the left side and I have no pain on that side. Sometimes I have some burning in my stomach area. Some things that have helped me a little are Maximum Strength Phazyme Gas & Acid. It contains 250 mg of Simethicone, which is supposed to help with gas. Besides, I've been taking Nexium, which I understand helps with the pain caused by the excess bile in the system. You can also try mineral water. That seems to help me. My doctor said I have "Dambulary Syndrome," which is the bile that pulls from the liver to the small intestine, causing pain, discomfort, cramps and spasms. He also said I have "Irritable Bowl Syndrome" caused by no gallbladder. This situation is not fun! I've tried everything, but I'm still in pain and discomfort. I wish I had a solution for all of you who are going through the same. In addition, a person after gallbladder surgery may have diarrhea or . I have been having a terrible case of constipation. This can also be caused by pain medication, which I have been taking. We all need to unite and communicate what has been helpful to you with your pain, gas, swelling, constipation, diarrhea or whatever your symptoms are. Another thing that is the most important ant is drinking a lot of water. A doctor told me that a person should take his weight and divide him in half and that's how many ounces of water should drink one day. Good luck to you and I hope we all get to the bottom of this problem with a good solution, health and health!!! Published 4 years ago I have the same problem, I had gallbladder surgery biliar on July 1, 2010 and at first I would constip and now it's the other way I sometimes put loose feces and they cost me I like to have to go after using the bathroom. I had 2 endoscopy, 2 in the last 12 years and I just had a top imaginary study of GI that took 3 hours. It all comes back negative, but they say I have a bad acid reflux. And my endoscopy showed gastritis and my colonoscopy showed internal hemorrhoids. I just want my life back, a few days I'm so depressed. I'm glad we have a support forum, it's hard to tell someone their problem unless they've had gallbladder surgery. Published 3 years ago Hello, everyone. I had his 2015 argument and I'm still swollen after eating some food. So I've been looking for answers. I ran into others with the same problems. It's because we can't digest fat anymore, we just swollen... so I started to fast to lend myself using Daniel Fast for 21 days...... We must all consume fruits and vetative and whole grains and water for the rest of our lives. No meat, fatty food, milk or creamy soups. A vegan diet for life... While in this fast ..prays included, I lost the weight and am becomming free swollen. After the Quick I found while eating regular meals again. I started to swell again. So I have to re-interval..all fruits / vegetables and no fatty/fried foods at all. Water, water and more water. Just until everything's gone. I'd say a few months. Published 4 years ago I feel the same! Nauseous, swollen, full after eating only a small amount. I'm day five since surgery. I keep thinking I should feel better. Published 4 years ago Hey Stacie, I'm sorry to hear you feel the same way I keep feeling like that and it's almost December. It's bullshit! But I think my stomach flora is ruined, so I'm gonna try probiotics. Have you lost weight since you can't eat much? Published 4 years ago About how many hours apart do you feel comfortable eating? It takes about 3-4 hours to eat again. But I feel sick all the time I have to wait Published 4 years ago Oh no! I'm sorry to hear you're not better. Let me know how the flora goes, I'm sure I'll need it too. I'm not sure of my weight, I haven't climbed to the scale, but with this blond I certainly don't feel any lighter. I usually feel better about 2 hours after eating, but then I put on some cheese and then I try to eat so I feel better. It feels like a crazy circle right now, Lol. I don't want to win another pound, and I want to get out of this cycle. I've always been stable with my weight and I've earned about 25 pounds when I started to notice my symptoms that ended up being gallbladder problems. I never had a real gallbladder attack, only always swollen and miserable after eating among many other things. I kept doubting my sanity and if I was in my head because all my blood work was normal. Finally the doctor did an ultrasound and a HIDA scanner and my gallbladder only worked in 2%. My dream was to get my gallbladder out and feel healthy and normal again, but that hasn't happened yet. I hope with time and healing will. I hate the extra 25 pounds I won! Published 4 years ago I had my surgery on Monday, I lived with acid reflux and swelling for years and the total feeling causes. I was doing good until yesterday, that full swollen feeling is back, eating basically anything will cause and feel like I'm pushing up into my lungs, not having a hard time breathing just a very tight feeling, so I can relate! I hope yours gets better soon. Maybe in your follow-up if it's not resolved, Dr can help. Published 4 years ago I can't gain weight, I know I'm not eating enough but it's impossible if I keep eating as little as this. It takes me about 3-4 hours to feel good but then I'm afraid to eat because I know that feeling will come back. Are you still feeling swollen after eating? I know it's been a couple of days since you mentioned it, so I was wondering if it's the same or you're better? I don't want to eat more like I never feel so miserable. Eating was very fun for me now I'm always looking at the clock, I was wondering if I should eat now or later and then feel miserable. I don't like eating outside anymore. Published 4 years ago Now that a week has passed, do you feel better? I feel great now! The whole swelling, the pressure and the whole feeling is gone. I get a little marshmallow every time after eating and still some "go" problems, but besides that I feel fantastic! Published 4 years ago Published 4 years ago I'm so glad I crossed your thread and I felt exactly the same as myself. I'm day 6 from GB extraction surgery. Yesterday was the best thing I had felt since op (as it had horrible that I think it was gas related to: keyhole). The shoulder pain disappears and swelling, tenderness, disease has begun . after eating. How uncomfortable. Have I worked since your dates that have taken about 15 days after the operation to feel good? The Fingers crossed could be able to eat my Christmas dinner! Do you have any advice for me for my next 10 days that helped ease the feeling? Published 4 years ago Hi, I've had my key hole surgery to remove my vesicle today (22.12.16) How do you feel now, please and how long it took to feel good? I'm nervous about sleeping in Tiered tbh on the way to a lot of sleep pain comfortably... any advice? Thank you. Published 4 years ago Hey, did you just get your GB off yesterday? Wow. You're still in recovery so you give yourself a week or so at least. I had a shoulder for 5 or 6 days that took my mind off the main event! (something to do with the gas trapped in the keyhole apparently). He's still taking pain relief. I felt more physically comfortable once my points were withdrawn (after 10 days). Unfortunately I am still very swollen/intendent after eating the smallest of meals (constantly burping straight after which it is embarrassing). They also woke me around 5am with the fullness/nauseous (which was one of the problems when I had a GB .. It's been 22 days, so I'm starting a food diary now. I stick to low/no fat where I can, and very small portions, however it seems daily so not sure if I'm going to stain a pattern but I thought it was worth it. You could try some bile supplements (suggested below) once you've seen the consultant if it's still not right. You're very early, so I'm sure you'll start feeling much better within a week or so... Published 4 years ago Hi, Olivia. I had my gallbladder removed 12/21/16 and I mostly feel better. My biggest problem is pain/soreness around the navel, the other incisions feel good. Besides, I can't go, so I had to take a laxative and see what happens. Around my navel is also swollen, but I think it's to be expected, since that's the incision in which they put the camera. My lower abdomen feels like I did 1,000 crutches on the day of surgery. I'm sure it doesn't help with sleeping. The night of surgery, I could sleep a little on my left side, but last night I had to sleep only on my back due to the pain of the belly button. I'm a sleeper, so you don't have to say that last night the dream wasn't very good. I was also nervous about sleeping the first night, but finally I went to sleep " rest a little. I hope you feel better soon > wants you and I to have good luck in our recovery and healing. Published 4 years ago I had made mine on December 21, 2016 and without shoulder pain - a bit of swelling went to the doctor today and he took off the bandages - I hope I don't get any of the problems upstairs tonight was my first meal we'll see if it happens to me Published 4 years ago Hello everyone, I'm having all the symptoms you are. I can't eat more than small meals. Heartburn, naseated, bloated. I had surgery November 21, 2016, due to bile calculations, and I thought I would feel better, but now I'm worse. I lost 9 pounds in a month. Can anyone tell me if there's any relief on the site? Published 4 years ago Hello! I'm sorry I saw this so late, but I'm so sorry you felt the same way I did. You better now? I was doing well, not much better, but at least better and now it seems to have fallen back. I am nauseous more often and my stomach feels so full and swollen for hours. I feel bad too while that's happening. All this ordeal makes it soooooooooo very difficult for me to eat. Because obviously I can't eat when I'm nauseous and full. Is it still the same for you? Published 4 years ago How do you feel now? I just had surgery on Saturday and I felt better at the hospital. My back hurts and my stitches sometimes pulls. I haven't had diarrhea or nausea. I'll feel good in two weeks. I hope so. I try to walk every time I get up. Any advice? Published 4 years ago The same problem I've been having, my surgery was 5 weeks ago, you can't eat, stay nausea, pain, swelling, and anxiety. I'm sorry I can't go ahead with the setbacks. But in a brilliant note today was a good day. Maybe we all need more healing time than others. Published 4 years ago Hi, I just pulled my gallbladder and calculus calculations 02.02.17 just 4 days ago. It has 4 incisions wounds and feels totally swollen due to the gas I think. Trying to walk a little to get rid of the gas but with a lot of pain. Don't sleep like not sleeping on my back but it hurts a lot of sleeping on the side. My points will be until 10.02.17. Trying to drink plenty of fluids but without feeling like eating a lot because of the sensation of swelling. I hope you're okay? Published 21 months ago Hey, Stacie, I'm sorry for your pain, honey. I got 25 pounds in 4 months and I felt nauseous and I could barely eat anything. She was suffering daily and so swollen. I went to my doctor and he sent me for an ultrasound and came back normal but he didn't believe me so he sent me to a gallbladder ejection test and discovered that my gallbladder worked in 17 percent. I had my surgery last Wednesday and I'm on 9th recovery and I'm still so pained and swollen. I can't use any of my Jean's only funds. The doctor made 2 incisions in my navel and I have 3 in my stomach. I had two headaches and I can honestly say that it hurts the same. I also have a lot of back pain and I'm not sure why. I can't sit down, stay or stay long without hurting. I hope you feel better, do you have any suggestions for me? Join this discussion or start a new one?
